THE NORVEGIAN FUND AND FINANCING MECHANISM HAS CEASED
The European Economic Area (EEA) and the Norwegian Financing Mechanism program known as the Norwegian Fund has successfully ended. According to the National Development Agency the Norwegian Financing Mechanism provided the different types of Hungarian projects and funds with more than Euro 135 million which equals with almost HUF 34.5 billion.

TUC SALT AND PEPER CRACKERS ENTERING THE MARKET IN MAY WILL BE PRODUCED IN SZEKESFEHERVAR
Another popular cracker type will make the palette of products by the Gyori Keksz Ltd. even more colourful. The TUC salt and paper crackers that had entered the Hungarian market in May 2008 will be produced under the same roof with traditional products such as Pilota keksz, Vanilia karika, Gyori Edes, Albert keksz, or Tele kreker. The company will produce this type of salt crackers for several foreign markets too.

THE SZEKESFEHERVAR LOCATED LAUREL WOULD LIKE TO APPLY E-PAPER SHELF LABELS
 The e-paper technology can already be introduced in the shops of Hungary as well says the Szekesfehervar located Laurel. The digital shelf label can centrally be managed and updated through a wireless connection.

GRUNDFOS RECEIVED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR SUBSIDISING THE WAGE OF 1500 EMPLOYEES
The Danish Grundfos manufacturing pumps and motors at Tatabanya and Szekesfehervar received a financial support of HUF 183 million from the National Employment Public Foundation Office for subsidising the wages of 1500 employees. The received financial support will cover the period from March till the end of May when the base salary of the employees had to be reduced to 80 percent as a consequence of the introduced four-day work week.

GUESTS FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF KEMI ARRIVED AT SZEKESFEHERVAR
34 Finnish and Hungarian towns met in Eger this week. There were guests from Kemi the sister city of Szekesfehervar too: they spent the day in our city.

THE REGIONAL CENTRE AT SZEKESFEHERVAR TRAINED LABOUR SUPERVISORS
The Regional Training Centre at Szekesfehervar has trained labour supervisors within the frameworks of ”New career – new chance” which is a program financed by the EU and the government; registered higher education graduates seeking employment attended the course. The forty-two higher education graduates seeking employment were chosen from the one hundred candidates for the training, which is listed by the National Training Register too. Those who pass the final exam successfully will work as civil servants.

PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT SERVICE REDUCES GOVERNMENTAL BURDENS OF EMPLOYERS
With the help of a new system which is available on the following website: https://estat.afsz.hu from 11 May 2009 the employers can simply and quickly fulfil their legal obligations concerning collective layoffs. With the help of the application, the data supply obligations of the employers are significantly reduced since the data of the notifications are electronically recorded and it becomes possible for the employers to check the acknowledgements and the processing (status) of their notification. It also becomes possible for the employers to save time with the data notification since the system offers many convenient functions like (copy, list box, code dictionary etc.).

SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT AID WON BY ALBA INNOVATION PARK
The most significant financial supports – hundreds of millions of HUF - from the competition papers written out for economic development in the Central Transdanubian Region was spent on industrial parks. Infrastructure development, green field investments and the establishment of incubator houses were among the support areas. There are many projects from Szekesfehervar among the winners: the Alba Innovation Park received a financial support of HUF 46.5 million and a two-storey incubator house can also be built in Szekesfehervar.

THE NEW HUF 200 COINS PUT INTO CIRCULATION 15 JUNE - THE OLD HUF 200 BANKNOTES GOOD UNTIL NOVEMBER
The mass production of the HUF 200 coins has been commenced. The Hungarian Mint Ltd. (Magyar Pénzverő Zrt.) will mint 71 million of the coin, which is made up of two different metals. The mint has already prepared 15.5 million pieces. The coin will go into circulation in middle of June. The HUF 200 is a bimetal so it is made from two different metals. The outer part of the coin will from the alloy of a yellow and the inner from a silver metal. The outer (yellow) ring contains 75 percent copper, 21 percent zinc and 4 percent nickel. Our HUF 5 and 20 coins are also made from this alloy.

THE SZEKESFEHERVAR DAIRY EXPANDS AND INCREASES THE NUMER OF ITS EMPLOYEES
The Alfoldi Tej Ertekesito and Beszerzo Ltd. (ATEB) will carry out another development on its Szekesfehervar located dairy factory and the company planning to increase the number of its employees. The capacity of the machines producing ultra high temperature (UHT) processed milk has been significantly increased. The company has also introduced the ESL technology, which makes it possible to produce 21-day milk.

SOLAR, WIND AND GROUND SOURCE - ENERGY COURTYARD INAUGURATED AT THE VOROSMARTY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
The energy courtyard of the Vorosmarty Mihaly technical school was inaugurated Tuesday morning. Almost every headmaster of the city’s grammar schools attended the inauguration of the equipment introducing renewable and environment friendly energy resources.

A DELEGATION FROM SRI LANKA DISCUSSED THE OPPORTUNITIES OF COMMERCIAL RELATIONS IN SZEKESFEHERVAR
Deputy mayor, Dr. Csilla Csapó accepted a delegation from Sri Lanka at the City Hall. The deputy mayor of Szekesfehervar, Dr. Csilla Csapó accepted a delegation of twelve in the City Hall. The business men visited the industrial parks first then the City Hall. The leader of the delegation Jeevani Siriwardena said that the most important aim of the visit was to develop commercial relations between the two countries.

FEJER COUNTY WON 5.5 BILLION ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT COMPETITIONS
According to data by the European Social Fund (ESF) Fejer County achieved average performance on the human development competitions of the National Development Plan. All together 77 winning competitions were handed in from the county between 2004 and 2008 and some 3.3 billion HUF was paid out for these winning competition papers until the end of March 2009. Among the especially successful competitions from Fejer County, there are several projects from Szekesfehervar as well.

The Tourinform Office of Fejer County prepares with seven new publications for this year’s new season. Interesting thematic brochures introduce the tourism destinations of Fejer County which they intend to use for boosting domestic tourism in the region.

SZEKESFEHERVAR LOCATED LAUREL INCREASED TURNOVER BY FOURTY PERCENT
Last year the Szekesfehervar located Laurel Group realised a HUF 3.5 billion revenue wich was a fourty percent increase compared to last years result. The company specialised in the sale of state-of-the-art commercial informatics systems sold more than 2600 high-tech cash registers. The company’s activity expanded over the borders of Hungary in 2008. However the company sees that the technological development of Hungarian commerce is still significantly outdated.
